What comes to mind when you think of Thanksgiving? Maybe it’s a cornucopia centerpiece and small colorful pumpkins adorning your home; plates of mouth-watering turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, and stuffing for dinner; and getting together with family and friends, watching football, and playing games together.
Thanksgiving can mean many things, but it’s largely about giving thanks (after all, it is called Thanks-giving). However, the bizarre turkey dinners below may make you think, “no thanks!”

1. Chip-Flavored Turkey

If you’re a fan of hot puffed cheese sticks, like Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, or ranch flavored corn chips, like Doritos, then Reynold’s Kitchens’ “Hot Turkey in an Oven Bag” may be the perfect bizarre recipe for you! Coat the turkey with the crushed chips and roast for a crunchy chip-flavored turkey.
2. Roasted Alien Facehugger Turkey
The movie Alien made its first debut in 1979, introducing viewers to the “facehugger,” a science-fiction creature that attaches itself to a host’s face in an attempt to implant them with an alien parasite (yeah, creepy). Today, Hellen Die, with years of horror film and T.V. experience, has her own version of the facehugger — in the form of a roasted turkey! This one could easily win an Academy Award for the most bizarre of all turkey dinners.
3. Turkey Cake

Do you like savory pies? How about a turkey cake? This meatloaf-style cake recipe from Chowhound was created with layers of turkey, sweet potatoes, marshmallows, cranberry sauce, and a heaping spoon of bizarre.
4. Turkey Sushi Roll

We love a good turkey leftover recipe (see: Thanksgiving Turkey Leftover Recipes You’ll Love to Gobble Up [INFOGRAPHIC]), but a turkey sushi roll? Bonsai Bistro’s Thanksgiving-inspired maki roll is filled with smoked turkey breast, stuffing, dried cranberries, green beans, and cream cheese. It is tempura battered and fried, and served with cranberry wasabi and red wine soy demi-glace. This one actually sounds tasty and a little less bizarre — what do you think?
5. Jell-O Mold Turkey

While not an actual turkey, this turkey-shaped gelatin is one of the many turkey-shaped Jell-O mold competition entries that may be a little too realistic (and bizarre) looking for most people’s tastes. Your dinner guests might prefer a bowl of cranberry gelatin salad instead.
