The bases are full, the stands are packed, and the peanut shells are piling up. It’s baseball season! Kick off the Nashville Sounds’ 40th-anniversary season on April 11 at First Tennessee Park, when the team will host the Oklahoma City Dodgers. If you can’t make it to the opening game, no worries. With 71 home games on the calendar, there’s plenty on the schedule. This season’s schedule is full of fireworks, family fun, musical guests, and giveaways galore on almost every day of the week. Check out season ticket memberships and the full game schedule on the Nashville Sounds website, and read on to learn more about everything the 2017 season has to offer!
Mondays were made for minor league baseball. Grab a black t-shirt and ballcap to match the Sounds players during every Monday game, when they’ll wear their black “Music City” jerseys in celebration of 40 years as Nashville’s first professional sports team. If you’re a family of four, Mondays are a great night to gear up and head to the game, too. Show your Kroger Plus card at the box office for four tickets, four hot dogs, and four drinks for just $44.
If you prefer the sound of live music over the sound of pop flies, head to First Tennessee Park for a Tuesday night game. The Tennessean will be bringing in special guest entertainers and hosting fun theme nights!
Are you a student at Middle Tennessee State University, Belmont, Lipscomb, Tennessee State, Vanderbilt, or any other university in Tennessee? Grab your roomies, a picnic blanket, and head to the stadium’s big grassy knoll, aka the “berm seats,” for some super affordable fun and a special hat giveaway.
Snap the perfect #TBT pic during one of the Sounds’ nine “Throwback Thursday” games. The team will wear their 1978 throwback uniforms to celebrate the original uniform style. Don your favorite pair of bell bottoms and tuck a flower behind your ear for some retro flair to match!
You don’t have to wait for New Year’s, the 4th of July, or even a kiss from Prince Charming in order to see fireworks in Nashville. Just come to one of the 10 Friday night Sounds games!
“Swing batter batter, swing!” Spend Saturday night with the Sounds and enjoy a variety of live entertainment options at The Band Box, located in right field. Saturday night perks also include nine-hole putt putt golf, corn hole, and ping pong!
Sundays are all about freedom and family! Bring the lil’ sluggers in your life to a Sunday Sounds game for some serious family fun. Kids 12 and under get to run the bases after the game. Also, active and veteran military members and their families can take advantage of specially discounted tickets.
