Parthenon Nashville Tennessee

Once your mummy has been wrapped, princess crowned, and you’ve made the final touches to everyone’s Halloween costumes, the next step is figuring out where to show them off. Luckily, Nashville has plenty of safe and fun Halloween activities the whole family can enjoy.

Here are 11 of the best family-friendly Halloween activities in Nashville to try this year:

  1. Haunted Museum at the Tennessee State Museum
Stop by on Saturday, October 22, between 10 AM and 2 PM to hear spooky stories of Tennessee’s past. The museum’s annual ghost story festival is a free event with prizes, crafts, and refreshments. Costumes are welcome!
  2. Hauntings at the Hermitage
Head on over to President Andrew Jackson’s famous residence on October 22, 2016, for the 16th Annual Hauntings at the Hermitage. Festivities include ghost tours, trick-or-treating, and a haunted hayride through the Hermitage woods!
  3. Mall-O-Ween at Stones River

Admission is free to this Halloween celebration at the Stones River Mall in Murfreesboro on October 31. Trick-or-treat stations will be open throughout the mall and at participating retailers from 5 PM to 7 PM.  The costume contests (for kids 12 and under) begin at 6 PM.

  4. Booville at Nashville Shores

Open each weekend in October, Booville offers a hay bale maze, bounce houses, arts & crafts, a costume contest, story time, a trick-or-treat trail, games, and Tennessee’s largest Frankenstein. Tickets start at just $9.99.

  5. Honeysuckle Hill Farm

Honeysuckle Hill Farm is one of several farms on this list, because no fall in Tennessee is complete without a visit to the farm. Located just north of Nashville in Springfield, the farm’s Fall Festival features a pumpkin patch, corn maze, duck races, singing chicken show, ziplines, and more!

  6. Boo at the Zoo
Each year, the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere invites little ghosts and goblins to don their favorite costume for Boo at the Zoo. Bring the kiddos to meet a talking pumpkin, collect candy along the zoo trail, or take a Howl-O-Ween Hayride on the zoo’s backroads.
  7. Walden Farm

Celebrating the harvest season with your family at this Smyrna farm is super affordable. Admission to the activity area–which includes a corn maze, hay mountain, and 40-foot slide–is only $4!

  8. Nashville Public Library

You might be surprised to learn the library’s event calendar is chock full of free Halloween activities, starting with a costume swap where you can trade in the kids costumes (ages 10 and under) from last year and pick new ones.

  9. Gentry’s Farm
During the fall season, this picturesque family farm in Franklin opens up to the public on the weekends. Admission is just $7 and activities include a corn maze, a mini maze, hayrides, a nature trail, a wooden tractor playground, and a hands-on barn.
  10. Lucky Ladd Farms

A petting zoo, giant pumpkin slingshot, corn maze, and wagon ride are just a few of the more than 70 activities at this massive farm. There’s also cow milking and a Goat-A-Coaster Rooftop Goat Walk that you won’t want to miss.

  11. Fiddle Dee Farms
You’ll find pumpkins aplenty at this Greenbrier farm. There’s pumpkin painting, pumpkin chunkin’, and even pumpkin basketball! You can also search your way out of Shuckle’s gigantic, seven-acre corn maze (there’s a mini maze for the little ones, too). Did we mention the corn cannon?

It’s clear there’s not going to be any shortage of fall-time fun in Nashville this year. Will you and your family be going to any of these? Got any suggestions to add to the list? Leave a comment below and let us know about your favorite family-friendly Halloween activity in Nashville!
